The much-anticipated second season of Nine Perfect Strangers will premiere on Hulu with the first two episodes on May 21, followed by weekly episode releases. In the UK, it will debut on Amazon Prime Video on May 22.
This season introduces nine new strangers embarking on Masha’s (played by Nicole Kidman) unique psychedelic therapy at the enchanting Zauberwald in the Austrian Alps.
Starring an ensemble cast including Nicole Kidman, Henry Golding, Lena Olin, Annie Murphy, Christine Baranski, Lucas Englander, King Princess, Murray Bartlett, Dolly de Leon, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Mark Strong, and Aras Aydin, the show promises another round of intense drama.
Season two’s synopsis teases: “Nine new strangers connected in ways they could never imagine are invited by mysterious guru Masha Dmitrichenko (Nicole Kidman) to join a transformational wellness retreat in the Austrian Alps. Over the course of a week, she takes them to the brink.
“Will they make it? Will she? Masha is willing to try anything in the interest of healing everyone involved, including herself.”
Behind the scenes, the series boasts executive producers David E. Kelley, Nicole Kidman, Per Saari, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, Molly Allen, Jonathan Levine, Rachel Shukert, Liane Moriarty, Matthew Tinker, Anthony Byrne, and JH Butterworth.
The original series of Nine Perfect Strangers, which aired in 2021, was adapted from Liane Moriarty’s 2018 novel by the same name.
The news comes after Nicole shared her hopes of one day appearing in The White Lotus, which has been renewed for a fourth season following the success of the third.
Speaking to IndieWire, she addressed whether she’d ever appear in the HBO series, admitting she “loves” The White Lotus.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been asked. I’m a massive fan of Mike White, so I would do anything he writes, because I just think he’s phenomenal. I love The White Lotus. So there you go,” Nicole said at the premiere of her new movie, Holland.
Nicole worked with The White Lotus creator Mike White back in 2004 when filming a movie adaptation of The Stepford Wives.
Nine Perfect Strangers season two will premiere on Prime Video on May 22.
